Wrote:This is the second day I am getting the 'Guide not available ' msg on my cable box.what is going on?Greetings,If this is the second consecutive day, it could be maintenance downtime or an upgrade. I would recommend powering off your cable box and rebooting your converter. If the problem is not resolved, or comes back, you may have a signal or line problem and would need to contact Spectrum for a signal and drop line test. Your box is likely fine. Guide data not loading is rarely related to the box, and is most often a signal issue, if an update is not involved.Satch.
We just had Spectrum installed at our apartment seeing as my business uses it and we have had no problems. The technician said we received the latest equipment (Docsis 3.1 modem, Spectrum 210 HDDVR boxes).
For the last 3 days, the full guide and full menu are unavailable. There is STBA-3101 and STBA-3102 errors. I called tech support and they basically said 'We are working on the bugs and we hope to fix it soon'. Picture quality, internet speed and voice quality is great, but they should fix their bugs before rolling out new equipment. I suppose front panel interface buttons may vary based on which version of cable box you were provided.
Mine is, I believe, the newest (and I’m a firm believer that usually DOESN’T mean best). I just had it installed yesterday, after getting pissed yet again at DirecTV as they have become a much worse company ever since merging with AT&T, which has always been a horrible company. The Spectrum tech had the guide working. Later that day I was getting the STBA-3101 error, which carried on into the next day, today.
Searching for at least an explanation of the error code, I found a different page first, then this one.The first page I found said to swap boxes for the old one with a clock. This page also gives that as a possible solution. I think that’s not a great solution but will consider it if the problem persists. A better sounding solution was the reset explained above, which the poster said resolved his issue once and for all. The post did lack just a few words that could have made a big difference in helping others, especially if they have a different box, so they would know it was different. I guess then they could look for an alternative way to reset their version of the cable box, and if the reset didn’t resolve their errors, might have an understanding that it could be because they have a different box than the poster and thus require a different remedy. On my version of cable box, the lower right corner of the front face has a recessed, round button with two arched arrows, each going around half the button, in sort of a yin and yang chase. Holding that button, I did confirm it to be a reset button.
However, it did nothing to help the situation. After blinking to a fuzzy gray snow screen, the box flashed lights and made noises and displayed “no video signal” on my tv. With that status not changing after about 30 minutes, I tried it again. The same thing happened. After about 90 minutes I gave up, hit the power button and got the broadcast back. Still no guide or menu available. After about 24 hours I got the guide and menu.
You continually find a driving force control device which mechanically detects and update machine drivers. This driver control device will even backup and restore gadget drivers. This selection comes on hand in case of laptop crash or while upgrading to new os.
Spectrum Guide Always Unavailable
It’s been a few days since then and sometimes I get the guide and sometimes I don’t. Looks like at this point I could call and complain but sounds like it wouldn’t do any good. The other thing that really bothers me is the support videos don’t show up. Since the tech doesn’t explain how to use the remote but refers you to the video instead, it would be nice if the video ever loaded.
